GDrive?

Read a pretty interesting article today about Google's possible plan for this service called GDrive, which is an online storage service. I guess the idea is similar to the whole Gmail thing, which is awesome by the way. I am not sure whether they plan on charging people for the online storage service, or do the same thing that they did with Gmail, which is to offer the service for free with tons of storage (I think I have like 2.7GB of free space on my gmail account or something), and then scan your email content or I guess in the case of GDrive, scan your file content, and blast you with ads. I wonder if anyone ever click on the ads in their Gmail account? I know I don't, and nothing relevant comes up anyway, and the ads are kind of small and I often don't know they exist (which is a good thing). However, scanning email messages seems to be much easier than scanning files, since unless you actually go scan the content of a file, you wouldn't know what are the relevant ads to serve. Also, wouldn't the whole privacy issue that is debated when Gmail was announced going to rise up again? Anyway, the whole GDrive thing might be a good place to store pictures and photo albums, and also perhaps a good place to make sharing online files and online work collaboration that much easier and free (I think there might be similar services out there, but I don't think they are free). Also, apparently it can give users a mirror of their own hard drives, which is pretty cool. Perhaps Google wouldn't offer this service for free, if this service is pushed at all, but then, I have come to expect free things from Google nowadays that it would be a big dissapointment if it isn't.

Anyway, apparently the GDrive document that was posted online was not intended for publication (no kidding), and was taken down after someone discovered it but by then, it was too late and people had noticed it already. Kind of a big goof for something like this to be posted, or perhaps it was leaked out on purpose? Anyway, just thought it was interesting.
