Citibank e-Savings

Do you know that Citibank now offers a savings account with 4.75% interest rate APY? That is pretty good. I opened one and transfered money into it already. It was 4.5% before, like 2-3 weeks ago, but it is now at 4.75%. It is higher than the ING Direct savings rate. But this account can only be opened online, at www.citibankonline.com, but since it can be linked to your other citibank account, it doesn't matter so much and is far more convenient than putting money in ING Direct. It is called a e-Savings account or something like that. It is pretty cool, but the only thing is that you have to link that account to another qualified Citibank checking account, but then, for those of us who already have Citibank accounts, that doesn't really matter.

I recommend short-term (4-week) bills through Treasury Direct. Just keep rolling them every 4 weeks. Last week's auction had a yield of 4.655%. Since it's exempt from state/local income taxes it's better than most of the online savings accounts.
